Colecar Strategic Land is delighted to confirm that Central Bedfordshire Council’s Planning Committee has resolved to grant planning permission for land at Leighton Road, Toddington.
The approval is for up to 75 new homes, together with public open space, including children’s play space, associated drainage, landscaping, internal roads, utilities and supporting infrastructure. All matters are reserved except for access from Leighton Road.
The decision marks the culmination of a significant amount of work by the wider project team and represents an important step forward in bringing the site forward for development.
Securing planning permission is rarely straightforward and this outcome reflects the collaborative approach taken throughout the process. From the initial site assessments through to committee determination, the project has benefited from the expertise and commitment of a highly experienced consultant team.
In particular, we would like to thank the teams at Woods Hardwick, Paddock Engineering and Ecology Solutions, alongside the wider consultant team who have contributed their knowledge and support throughout the application process.
We would also like to thank the Officers and Members of Central Bedfordshire Council for their consideration of the proposals and for their constructive engagement during the determination of the application.
Jenny Ellender, Planning Director added:
“This is a great site and presents a really good opportunity to deliver much needed housing in the Toddington area. We are very grateful to the team for all their hard work.
“This resolution to grant planning permission is an important milestone for the site and we look forward to working with stakeholders as it progresses through the next stage of the development process.”
