Shaping communities with sustainable roots
To create a sustainability legacy we can be proud of, we strive to ensure that all of our projects are carbon neutral. We’re also committed to creating a positive impact on local communities by helping to create high-quality, sustainable developments.
We build sustainability into our projects by:
- Promoting zero emission electric strategies on sites with no fossil fuel plants
- Prioritising high performance fabric in buildings to reduce energy demand in accordance with the principles of the energy hierarchy
- Producing designs and constructions that minimise all forms of pollution
- Maximising onsite renewable energy generation through the installation of roof mounted PV panels and battery storage
- Introducing a range of sustainable measures to improve public transport, as well as providing cycle parking and electric vehicle charging points
- Incorporating SUDS measures to reduce surface water run-off
- Including ecological enhancements throughout our developments
We believe that sustainability must be embedded in our business operations: from how we operate internally, how we select our sites, create our visions for development and who we work with. We know that to have maximum impact, our strategy must align with our corporate values and not be an add on. We are in the process of working with Stantec on an overarching Sustainability Strategy, which will be a yardstick for all our business activities. We are taking time to scope the strategy and its objectives, which are also being shaped by a survey of key individuals and organisations in our value chain. The strategy will help to further shape our approach to site promotion and our commitments at planning application stage, providing a framework for future sale, construction and delivery with the aim of maximising positive outcomes for communities and the environment.
